The Tampa Bay Skating Academy offers many different Hockey classes.
The Mini-Mite beginning hockey class is for children 4-6 years old that teaches basic skating and beginning hockey skills. No skating experience is required, but completion of the Beginning Tots skating class is recommended. Program includes a 45-minute group class. Skate rental is included and full equipment is required.
The Hockey 101 & 201 class is a basic hockey program that teaches skating in a Progressive order from the beginning steps through Balance, Edge control, and Stops & Starts. Passing, Shooting & Stick and handling the puck are also worked on. A successful completion (which may require more than one session) will qualify the student for Hockey 201.
The Golie class is a program that will help all ages and levels take your game to the next level. From basics up to advances skills. This Goalie class will go over proper stretching, warm ups, positioning, balance, conditioning, stick handling, stand up & butterfly techniques, as well as proper maneuvers in the crease from post to post. It is the coaches belief that one of the best ways to better yourself is through repetition of training, so it is suggested that everyone attending the 10 week sessions try to attend them all to see maximum results.
Please see each Hockey class description for specific schedule and information.
