Announcing the first USFS Theatre on Ice program at TBSA - produced and directed by Pauline Williams Gasparini, World and Olympic skating coach, beginning in September 2009!
Theatre on Ice (TOI) is a form of competitive figure skating that is popular in Europe, where it is known as Ballet on Ice. It combines the grace of figure skating with the excitement of theater and dance. Competition teams include 8 - 30 skaters and are judged by regular U.S. Figure Skating judges based on technical merit and presentation with emphasis on originality, costuming, artistry and musicality.
The program is open to USFS members - both individual USFS members as well as members of any USFS club. It is preferred that applicants have passed or are planning to pass Pre-Preliminary (or higher) Moves in the Field no later than Jan 31, 2010. Theatre team skating offers:
-
A chance to develop the dramatic side of skating
-
A chance to be part of a team while building technical skills
-
A chance to make new friends
-
A chance to relax while both performing and competing
Please complete registration form & submit to Pauline Gasparini, via email to pdgasparini@aol.com or regular mail to 255 Forest Lakes Blvd. Oldsmar, FL 34677 (postmarked no later than Sept 7, 2009).
